New approvals and certifications at Dillinger
Like many other companies, Dillinger also has an Integrated Management System (IMS), which combines Quality Management in accordance with ISO 9001 and environmental management in accordance with ISO 14001 with a whole range of other management regulations. In addition, the company's heavy plate products themselves are, of course, covered by approvals and certifications issued by numerous national and international companies. The list of approvals provides a useful overview of the grades of steel approved for an extremely large and diverse range of applications.
The most recent approvals and certifications are shown and explained briefly below: on the one hand, Dillinger has recently succeeded in obtaining certification in accordance with BES 6001 for the plant at the Dillingen location. And, in addition, the DIFENDER proprietary steel has attained approval in accordance with Bundeswehr (Federal German Armed Forces) standard TL 2350-0000.
BES 6001 – certification of responsible sourcing at Dillinger
Responsibility throughout the entire supply chain - since early 2021, Dillinger has now been certified in accordance with BES 6001 for the complete production chain for steel at its metallurgical plant in Dillingen. The independent BES 6001 certification system, the "Framework Standard for Responsible Sourcing", encompasses in the observation of responsible procurement of building products not only social, but also economic and ecological aspects. The criteria also include global, regional, local and company-internal effects and implications. The products made at Dillinger are thus classified and evaluated as having been responsibly sourced.

DIFENDER – now approved to TL 2350-0000
If you need to meet maximum security and safety requirements with the minimum of weight, it's best to put your faith in our special steels. DIFENDER provides protection for both civil and military armoured vehicles on land and water and shields armoured trucks and even whole buildings against ballistic and explosive attack. These steels assure special levels of resistance to ballistic bombardment, exposure to explosive blast and fragmentation attack combined with high hardness and mechanical strength but low weight. Our DIFENDER proprietary steel has now also been approved in accordance with the Bundeswehr's TL 2350-0000 standard.
